Cheryl Duffy of Camden has written one of the 150-word life stories being considered for publication in an upcoming issue of Reader’s Digest magazine. Duffy’s story is trending as one of the most popular submissions and is available for viewing at facebook.com/ReadersDigest, where people can show support by voting for it.

Duffy’s story titled “50 Strokes by Hand” is a humorous tale of an adventure her daughter, age 8 at the time, had while preparing brownies from a mix. The story is part of a project that celebrates the launch of the new book “Life … The Reader’s Digest Version,” the first of a new series that creates a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people’s personal stories to be widely read and for the opportunity of one story to be published in Reader’s Digest to its more than 30 million readers, plus be the recipient of a major cash award. Several runner-up stories also will receive attention and cash prizes.
