The semi-annual Cash for Clothes Sale to benefit Coastal Opportunities will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 through Monday, Oct. 24 at the American Legion Hall on Pearl Street in Camden.

Cash for Clothes is the major community fundraising event for Coastal Opportunities, an agency providing services to adults with mental retardation and autism in the Knox County area.

To sell clothing one must pre-register. Clothing will be sold on a 50/50 basis (half the profit to the seller, half to Coastal Opportunities). When selecting clothing to sell, remember that only good quality fall and winter clothing will be accepted. Register with a name and address and be given identification tags, lists for clothing and instruction sheets. Do not bring clothing to sell to pre-registration unless it is a donation to the workshop.

Pre-registration will again be held at the Coastal Opportunities, 35 Limerock St. Camden. Cash for Clothes has planned two weekends for pre-registration. Pre-registration will be held Friday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m., or Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Coastal Opportunities, 35 Limerock St., Camden. Pre-registration will also be held on Friday, Oct.14, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Coastal Opportunities, 35 Limerock St. Camden. Cash for Clothes has always been proud to offer good clothing at bargain prices, so we cannot accept garments that are torn, stained, or out of season.

Clothing items from any season will happily be accepted as donations for the sale, at Coastal Opportunities, Limerock Street, Camden any time during the year. To donate the entire proceeds from the sale of  one’s clothing to Coastal Opportunities, there is no need to pre-register. Simply take clothing to Coastal Opportunities on Limerock Street in Camden any time before the sale. Volunteers will tag and price the clothing.

Cash for Clothes enthusiastically welcomes new volunteers (times are available both prior and during the sale). This is a wonderful way to contribute to the community, help clients of Coastal Opportunities, and meet new people. To volunteer or have questions about joining the volunteer staff, please call Nancy Wolfertz at 594-5429. Volunteers who work four or more hours qualify to attend the Cash for Clothes Pre-sale.
