The Maine Commission for Community Services announces a limited number of scholarships to attend the 25th annual Blaine House Conference on Service and Volunteerism, Tuesday, Oct. 11 at University of Maine in Orono. This award is valued at $85.

Applicants should be either agency staff or volunteers who lead volunteers, or teachers and administrators using service-learning and community programs that partner with schools. Six workshop sessions are offered on service-learning and more than 20 are planned for topics in volunteer management, including recruiting, recognizing volunteers, risk management, and more. Preference will be given to applicants from rural areas and those who will be attending the conference for the first time.
