New Hope for Women will host an open house Thursday, Oct. 6 from 3 to 6 p.m. to showcase its new offices at 5 Beech St. in Rockland, and to thank the community for 30 years of support.

All are welcome to enjoy light refreshments, music by the Celtic group Castlebay from Bristol, and tour the organization’s new and recently renovated office building.

New Hope for Women was founded in 1981 with one employee, and now 30 years later has nearly 20 employees working to end domestic and dating violence in Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties. In addition to the longest continuously operating 24-hour crisis hotline in the Midcoast, New Hope for Women’s services include: office advocacy hours in all three counties, support groups, legal and court advocacy, emergency safe homes, transitional housing, community education and workplace trainings, advocacy and classroom presentations offered to all 88 schools in its service area, and Time For Change, a certified batterer intervention program.
