One man was arrested and another was summoned after a Lincolnville police officer made two separate seizures of marijuana on the same day.

According to a press release from the Lincolnville Police Department, Officer Merl Reed arrested Bradley Wellman, 39, of Camden on Friday, Sept. 16 for furnishing schedule Z drugs. Marijuana was reportedly confiscated from Wellman, and once it was broken down the total weight of the marijuana seized was determined to be about one pound, police report.

The arrest followed a traffic stop for excessive exhaust, according to the press release, and Wellman may be facing additional charges. He was taken to Waldo County Jail following his arrest.

That same day, Reed conducted an eradication detail on Youngtown Road. The press release stated six mature marijuana plants were seized in that detail, and as a result, 48-year-old Dennis Pearse of Lincolnville was issued a criminal summons for cultivation of marijuana.

Reed, according to the press release, also issued Pearse civil summonses for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
