After three years of planning, the reconstruction of the Bog Bridge (Route 105) boat ramp is about to begin. The boat launching ramp will be closed starting Monday, Sept. 26 until the construction is completed – approximately two to three weeks.

The construction of a new ramp and parking lot across the street is being financed by the Maine Department of Conservation. Funds for rebuilding boat launching ramps come from registration fees imposed on boaters when they register their watercraft each year.

The town of Camden has awarded the construction contract to Farley & Sons of Rockport. The project includes an improved entrance and exit, a new ramp into the water, paving, seasonal restroom facilities, landscaping, and a new parking lot.

Boaters wishing to launch boats, canoes or kayaks during the construction period will have to use the public ramp located off Route 52 near Barrett’s Cove.
