In a couple of weeks, Belfast Maskers will close the doors of its Waterfront Theater at 43 Front St. forever. The company will continue providing quality theater for, and with, the community but, since the troupe will temporarily be a traveling show, it needs to lighten their load a bit. Therefore, Maskers Moving Sales are scheduled for Saturdays, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The theater’s accumulated wealth of props, costumes, furniture, tools, gadgets, set pieces, memorabilia and more will be offered for sale to the public at everything-must-go prices. Longtime Belfast Masker Charlotte Herbold reported there are “tons of tuxedos and military uniforms” too be sold, as well as lots of men’s suits.

The sales will take place behind the building. Belfast Maskers is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been performing in the Belfast area since the 1980s. Belfast Maskers next production, Alan Bennett’s “Talking Heads” (series II), will be presented at the First Church Oct. 13 through 23.
