Everyone knows that we have plenty of dogs and dozens upon dozens of cats and kittens available for adoption but did you know we also have other small mammals that are looking for a home? Currently, we have rabbits (two harlequins named Zinger and Zodiac and a gray bunny named Bunny), a female tricolor guinea pig with two tricolor babies and ferrets available for adoption.

Irene, our pet pick of the week, is a young, female ferret. She is a sweet girl who enjoys being held. Like cats, ferrets sleep a large part of the day, around 18 hours, but adapt to the schedule of the available attention of their owners upon which they thrive. They require regular exercise outside of their cage but it must be supervised because they can be quite mischievous and are known to be little bandits, stealing your keys and such and hiding them as part of a game. Irene is no exception she has a curious personality and wants to explore her surroundings. We also have a pair of ferrets, Romeo and Juliet, currently in foster care, who would be happy to remain a dynamic duo in a home of their own. Ferrets aren’t for everyone but they just might be right for you. Stop by the shelter to learn more about these amusing little creatures.

Skipper is a playful, extremely affectionate 6-month-old kitten who will steal your heart. She’s the first to greet you in the lobby of the shelter and if given attention will follow you around for more. Flipper likes to snuggle into your neck and give you kisses. She’s got quite a motor on her too. Flipper came in with her siblings and has flourished in foster care. She is very well socialized and will make an excellent family cat especially one with children who want a good kid cat. This darling cat should get adopted quickly so if you are interested stop by the shelter today. We still have dozens of kittens available.
