The Ocean House Gallery in Port Clyde welcomes artist Jan Lipson with an exhibition from Friday, Sept. 16-30.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, Sept. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ocean House Hotel dining room overlooking the harbor in Port Clyde.

Lipson has been exhibiting her artwork in the coastal village of Port Clyde since 2001. She graduated master of arts, Washington University of St. Louis in May 1979 and also bachelor of arts, The George Washington University, Washington, DC in May 1977.

She has attended many art programs, including the Maine Coast Art Workshops. Lipson has trained in a variety of art programs and is certified in the painting of faux finishes.

Lipson paints from nature and finds inspiration in the natural elements found on the coast — the ocean, the sunlight and the flora and fauna. She has a broad brushstroke and a colorful palette.
