Harvest of the Arts reminder

This is just a reminder that the Appleton Historical Society will host its annual Harvest of the Arts on Sunday, Sept. 11. Beginning at 2 p.m.,  a program of presentations of Appleton musicians and writers will perform at the Appleton Historical Society Meetinghouse, while visual art will be displayed outside. Not only is this a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, but a great way to see the Historical Society Meetinghouse if you haven’t seen it before.

Congratulations to Lindsey Fowles and Joseph White of Burkettville, who were married Saturday, Sept. 3 in a ceremony officiated by Aaron Blethen.

The PTO wishes all students, staff, and faculty a fantastic new school year! We are excited to welcome the new staff and look forward to supporting you at AVS. Regular PTO meetings will begin in October. We meet the first Wednesday of each month, from 7 to 8 p.m. The PTO is a great way to be involved in the school, either with activities we already have planned, or your own new ideas and suggestions. There is a place for everyone, you don’t have to come to the meetings. Look for more information next week at Back to School Night. FMI: call or email Kelly Callahan: ridgelife@gmail.com or 785-2190. Also – “like” us on Facebook (Appleton Village School) – we hope that our page can be a place to bat around ideas, share stories and connect with the AVS community anytime. A reminder that we will be hosting a tea for parents of kindergarten and first-grade students on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 5:30 p.m., just prior to our Welcome Back Night event.
