Rockland Harbormaster Ed Glaser said approximately half of the boats moored in the harbor were hauled out in advance of Tropical Storm Irene, and that half of those have already been relaunched. Glaser said more cruise ships are expected this fall, with a visit from Oceania Cruises’ 593-foot liner¬†Regatta due in October.

In Rockport, all the boats that were hauled by Rockport Marine are back in the harbor, according to Harbormaster Abbie Leonard.

“The water has been cleaned of all the seaweed washed up during the storm and the water has tested as clear again,” she said. “There’s lots of seaweed, if anyone wants to take it for their gardens.”
