An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to and reported the following calls in the Midcoast from Aug. 21 through Aug. 27.

Aug. 22

Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock responded to a car fire on Town House Road in Union. The vehicle sustained minor damage in the engine compartment.

Aug. 23

Trooper Scott Quintero responded to The Common Market in Union for the report of theft. The complainant reported that an unidentified individual entered the store and opened a package of food. The male subject ate from the package and left without paying. The investigation is ongoing.

Aug. 24

Trooper James Leonard responded to a vehicle crash in South Thomaston. On arrival, Jaycob Paquin, 22, was arrested for violating his conditions of release and operating under the influence.

Aug. 27

Trooper Wesbrock responded to a burglary on Lower Road in Appleton. Several items were taken. Trooper Wesbrock is continuing the investigation.
