On Thursday, Sept. 8, Rock City Café at 316 Main St. will transform into the Velvet Lounge with A Pint of Plain. A Pint of Plain features Jim Burke on fiddle; Jim Hyland on guitar, button accordion and fiddle; Hugh McGuinness on cittern; and Susanne Ward on the uilleann pipes.

On Friday, Sept. 9, Rock City Cafe’s Velvet Lounge presents The Daisy Sitters. Multi-talented musician and songwriter Mark Aubertin and sweet harmonies contributor Sarah Ann will perform original songs and some listeners are sure to know.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, Rock City Cafe’s Velvet Lounge will welcome back Scot Cannon of Belfast. Cannon performs his own acoustic versions of jazz and pop standards and also pulls from his collection of mildly sarcastic and sometimes moving original songs. For the past 25 years, the Berklee College of Music graduate has toured the East Coast with his mime, music and theater programs for children and adults. For more information, visit scotcannonmusic.com and scotcannon.com.

The music all three nights will run from 7 to 9 p.m. As usual there is no cover charge; however, tipping the musicians is highly encouraged. For more information on this and other events happening at the coffeebar/cafe, call 594-4123.
