Three Midcoast dance companies — Studio Red, Rockport Dance Conservatory and Kinetic Energy Alive — will come together to present a variety of dancing genres for one weekend only. Tom Sommo of Union, who has danced all over the world, also will add his unique style of dancing to the show.

Their “Phaze 3” show, presented by Camden Shakespeare Company, will be performed Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. at the downtown Camden Opera House, Elm Street/Route 1.

In addition to the dance numbers, Kristen Burkholder, vocalist for Tango, Midcoast Maine’s premier duo specializing in the great American Songbook, will perform between numbers.

“The dance show has pretty much become a tradition with us,” said CSC artistic director Chris Wolf. “We watch as the young dancers age and go off to college and are replaced with new talent. It’s pretty amazing to watch the evolution of it all.”

This year’s show will prove no less talented as all the dancers come together to give audiences a good show and some very talented dancing from classical ballet to hip hop and everything in between. “Phaze 3” will feature a number of solos performed by the various dancers. Many of the numbers have been used in competitions throughout New England, so audiences will see are polished, professional pieces.

Admission is by a donation of $10 at the door. All proceeds and donations raised go to the nonprofit Camden Shakespeare Company to support the arts.
