Thinking about purchasing an eBook reader? Join others at Rockland Public Library Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. for an informal demonstration of eBook readers and gain an understanding of their features.

Get hands-on with the Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook Color, two of the most popular eBook readers on the market today. The first question to be answered is, “how do you turn this thing on?”

Amy Levine, director of Rockland Public Library, notes: “While the library community is working on finding the best service model to provide patrons with ebooks, we also want to give our users the opportunity to try e-readers for themselves. Libraries have long been early adopters of new technology, and are in the business of providing information and books in many formats. It’s really about the content, not the container.”

This demonstration will take place in the Friends’ Community Room (lower level of the library).
