The Union Farmers’ Market, entering the 14th week of its first season, continues each Friday on the Common in downtown Union through October. The season has been filled with music, kids activities, live animals, and a diverse offering of local food by growers, farmers, and artisan cheese and bread makers.

This Friday, Aug. 26, the market will host Maine singer/songwriter Brian Patricks who brings a blend of blues, rock, folk and a bit of country to his performances.

Throughout the season the market has grown to 16 vendors who sell a wide range of goods from vegetables to jam, pasture-raised meat to gluten-free baked goods, wood-fired pizza to handmade cheeses. The market will continue each Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. until Oct. 14. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the Common, and a nearby restaurant and coffee house/local wine merchant for those wishing to round out an afternoon in Union. This coming Friday the Union Fair will be in full swing, and market-goers are encouraged to visit the fairgrounds before or after market to celebrate the Maine blueberry harvest.
