Finding ways to reduce stress and strengthen the body’s defenses will be the focus of the next meeting of the Midcoast’s Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, set for Tuesday, Sept. 6 from noon to 1:45 p.m. in the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill. All those living with Parkinson’s disease, as well as their loved ones and caregivers, are invited to attend.

Guest presenter Sid LeFavour, homeopathic consultant and Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, will share self-care techniques designed to promote relaxation and encourage a healthful balance of mind, body and spirit.

Attendees will also enjoy free cake and ice cream in celebration of the support group’s seventh anniversary.

The Parkinson’s Support Group meets regularly on the first Tuesday of each month, from noon to 1:45 p.m. at Quarry Hill. Meetings are free and offer fellowship and learning to all those living with Parkinson’s disease as well as their loved ones and caregivers. Attendees are encouraged to bring bag lunches; Quarry Hill provides beverages and desserts.
