Two free Tea and Puppets playgroups are offered for children 18 months through 3 years old with a parent or caregiver on Wednesday, Aug. 24 and Friday, Sept. 2, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at Ashwood Waldorf School in Rockport. Join early childhood teacher Toki Oshima for a puppet story, tea time, and playtime in the classrooms and wooded playground.

The playgroups are an opportunity to experience and learn more about the Parent/Child program at Ashwood. Parent/Child classes are offered in three 10-week sessions throughout the school year. The classes meet on Thursday or Friday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and incorporate imaginative free play, a simple craft activity, a snack prepared together, a puppet play, circle songs, finger plays, and outdoor time. The fall session begins on Sept. 8; though the registration deadline is Aug. 29, those attending the Sept. 2 Tea and Puppets may still register.
