The class of 1963, Rockland District High School (the first graduating class) met Aug. 6 for their annual picnic.

Jon and Cindy Dean hosted this year’s event at their new home, Liberty Farm. Potluck luncheon was enjoyed by classmates as well as an encore performance by Ervin Robinson singing his signature hit song “Driving Old Memories” as well as many old favorites.

Classmates and guests attending in addition to the hosts were: Howard and Mary Glover Lowell of South Thomaston, Rick Dodge with wife, Sandra of Friendship, John Mathieson of Rockland, Roger Rowling with wife, Linda of Owls Head, Freeman Carter of Hope, Bernard Jackson of Liberty, Ervin Robinson with wife Jean of Waldoboro, Steve Kalloch with wife Connie of W. Boylston, Mass., Shirley Mank Edwards with sister Nancy Beal (widow of classmate, Gerald Beal) and Charlie Dorgan with wife Bernie, both of Connecticut, Maryann Welch Solletti of Dorchester, Mass., Louise Rahmlow of Rockland and Lady Lake, Fla. and Stan Elliott with guest Betty Ann Tucker of Cushing and Bonita Springs, Fla.

Plans are under way for next summer’s gathering.
