Waldoboro Fire Department car wash, rummage sale

WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Fire Department will host a car wash and rummage sale on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will be accepted. All proceeds from this event will go toward the 175th anniversary celebration for the Waldoboro Fire Department scheduled for 2013.


Music Fest to benefit Warren food pantry

WARREN — On Sunday, Aug. 14 music lovers can catch a concert featuring country, bluegrass, folk rock and gospel. And the price of admission: A donation to the Bread for the Journey food pantry in Warren.

Music Fest will be held in Old Mill Park, located next to the St. George River on Main Street in Warren Village.

At 12 noon, there will be music from The Rusty Hinges. They play country, folk and bluegrass. At 1 p.m., Bill Tozier, a folk country and country singer, will take the stage. Northern Breeze plays at 2 p.m. and The Federated Four go on at 3 p.m.

There will be hot dogs, burgers and all the fixings, along with ice cream, watermelon, cold beverages and other desserts with proceeds going to the food pantry.

At 10 a.m. there will be a community worship service in the park with music by Lauren Armstrong and the Warren Baptist Church Praise Band.

The Bread for the Journey food pantry is located at the Warren Baptist Church and is open on Thursdays.


Public supper planned for St. George

ST. GEORGE — There will be a public supper at the St. George Grange, located at Wiley’s Corner on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. Come and enjoy homemade food with family, friends and neighbors. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. All are welcome. The next supper is planned for Sept. 10.
