Jess Day, director of Midcoast Music Together and a licensed provider of Music Together International, will lead a class for children and their families Sunday, Aug. 21 from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the Coastal Children’s Museum.

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program that emphasizes natural family-style learning by encouraging involvement with the whole family. Children from birth to age 5 will be able to sing, move, chant, listen and explore musical instruments.

Due to the size of the museum, workshop space is limited to 12 families, and sign up is on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a spot, call the Coastal Children’s Museum at 596-3033 or send email to info@coastalchildrensmuseum.org. The workshop is free for CCM members and included in the price of admission for non-members.

Opened in July 2009 and located at 75 Mechanic St., the Coastal Children’s Museum provides a place for children age 2 through 9 and their families to explore, discover and learn though play. For more information about upcoming events and memberships, visit coastalchildrensmuseum.org. Summer hours at the museum are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.
