Victoria Wyeth will give an illustrated talk titled Andrew Wyeth: Friends and Family — Portraits over the Years Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Oceanside High School (formerly Rockland District High School), 400 Broadway.

Wyeth’s talk, a benefit for the Friends of the Rockland Library, will not repeat the content of her recent library talks. She is the only grandchild of the iconic artist Andrew Wyeth, the great-granddaughter of renowned illustrator N.C. Wyeth and the niece of the celebrated Jamie Wyeth. Victoria Wyeth has been speaking about Wyeth art for more than a decade and a half. When she was 15 years old, she began giving walking tours at the Farnsworth Art Museum. Her talks are both intimate and electrifying. On Aug. 20, she will span the long career of Andrew Wyeth, mixing personal portraits with family stories from her memories and insights gained through years of discussions with her grandfather about his work.

Tickets are $25, $22 for members of the Friends of the Rockland Library and for students. Tickets are available in Rockland at the library, the Reading Corner and the Grasshopper Shop; and in Camden at Sherman’s Books. For more information, call the library at 594-0310. The evening is presented by the Friends of the Rockland Public Library and is sponsored by UBS Financial Services in Rockland.
