The Monday night blues series continues Aug. 15 with the TJ Wheeler Band from New Hampshire playing from 7 to 10 p.m. in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission is $10.

Wheeler is a noted blues and jazz musician, educator and overall musical activist. Originally from the greater Seattle area, Wheeler has been performing his specialized blend of blues and jazz for more than 35 years. In addition to playing at major festivals and concert venues around the world, he has devoted himself to integrating blues and jazz into education. His Hope, Heroes & the Blues program has been performed for more than 350,000 students through five continents around the world. In 1993, he received the prestigious WC Handy Award for Keeping the Blues Alive in education.

Coming up Saturday, Aug. 27, blues guitarist extraordinaire Ana Popovic will play during a sunset cruise (6 to 9 p.m.) aboard the M/V Monhegan, berthed on Rockland Harbor. Tickets are $30; call 596-6055.
