In observance of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Barbara Ernst Prey is holding a silent auction of her limited edition print “Patriot” during her current exhibit, “Open Spaces,” at Blue Water Fine Arts, Main Street/Route 131 to benefit Tuesday’s Children. Tuesday’s Children helps children who lost parents on Sept. 11, 2001 as well as to other acts of global terrorism. “Patriot” is from Prey’s 9/11 series.

“My hometown lost 45 people in the attacks, friends were killed, and Maine provided a source of inspiration for my painting. I am happy to support the work of Tuesday’s Children and the families on the 10th anniversary of a national tragedy,” said the artist.

“Patriot” is included in the collections of over 100 U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide. With work in the White House permanent collection, her appointment to the National Endowment for the Arts as well as a long list of important private and public collections, Prey occupies a significant place in American art. Last month, she was featured on the “CBS Evening News.”

The print auction runs through Sunday, Aug. 14. “Open Spaces” runs through Sunday, Aug. 21 and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, call 372-8087 or visit
