DURANGO, COLO. — Finn Whiting of Camden was among the graduates earning their degrees at Fort Lewis College’s Spring 2011 Commencement. Whiting earned a degree in geology.

Hope student completes Worcester Polytechnic summer program

WORCESTER, MASS. — Avery Smith, of Hope, recently completed the Frontiers Program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute from July 10-22. Frontiers is a two-week summer residential program for more than 180 soon-to-be juniors and seniors interested in science, mathematics and engineering.

Students gained exposure to a problem in their academic program, using current laboratory techniques, choosing from the following areas: aerospace engineering, biology, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, interactive media and game development, mathematics, mechanical engineering, physics and robotics. This program was supplemented with a communications workshop, as well as evening activities and field trips. The Frontiers Program is a well-balanced summer enrichment experience, providing students with a challenge and exposure to a field of interest. Avery completed the interactive media and game development program, as well as American history through film and the Internet.

Beck graduates from Endicott

BEVERLY, MASS. — Brionne Allegra Beck graduated from Endicott College during the 71st commencement exercises on May 21. She is the daughter of Roderick and LaTanya Beck of Rockport. She majored in interior design and received a bachelor of science degree.
