Storyteller Jean Armstrong will share worldwide stories and songs Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. in the Friends Community Room of Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St. Her performance is the final summer reading eventĀ  for the library.

Armstrong has performed at the National Storytelling Conference and throughout the United States and Canada. She is a member of the Maine Arts Commission and New England States Touring Roster. Her shows are fun, funny, witty, heartfelt, physical performances of original stories or traditional folklore that often gets a few concertgoers up on stage.

Following the performance, children are invited to pick up their rewards for the summer reading program and to make their own ice cream sundaes. For more information, contact “Miss Jean” Young at the library, 594-0310.
