Rockland’s Brian Reid is among the 14 New Hampshire Furniture Masters, one guest artist and two participants in the Prison Outreach Program will display a selection of their newest creations Aug. 6 through Sept. 7 in the auction preview exhibition “Inspired Design, Extraordinary Craftsmanship: New Hampshire Furniture Masters.”

This year’s preview exhibition is co-sponsored by Canterbury Shaker Village and takes place in the Village’s newly restored Carriage House. The exhibition features a diverse body of works by the Furniture Masters, all available for purchase during the course of the exhibition season and, if not sold, at the Masters’ annual auction on Sept. 10 at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, N.H. Canterbury Shaker Village is located at 288 Shaker Road and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit or call 603-898-0242.

“Inspired Design, Extraordinary Craftsmanship” with a reception and silent auction Saturday, Aug. 6 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. A perennial favorite, the silent auction offers attendees the rare opportunity to bid on smaller, more modestly priced special interest items by the Furniture Masters. The reception also offers attendees the opportunity to speak with the Masters one-on-one and discover the intricacies of these beautifully crafted pieces while standing before the works. Monies raised during the silent auction provide support for the Furniture Masters’ educational initiatives.
