The Waldoboro Police Department reported the following activity from July 18 through July 24.

July 18

Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that he is being harassed.

Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on Union Road at 5:22 p.m. John Flaherty, 63, of Warren was driving a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle that sustained minor damages. The driver complained of pain in the chest/stomach area. Flaherty was traveling south on Union Road. He left the roadway and lost control on the shoulder.

July 21

Sgt. Jamie Wilson is investigating a report from a resident that she is being harassed.

Sgt. Wilson is investigating a report from a resident that someone broke into her residence and took several items (unknown value).

July 22

Officer Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that all four tires on his vehicle were slashed.

Officer Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that her home was broken into and several items were taken (unknown value).

Officer Thomas Hoepner is investigating a report from a resident that someone stole his medication and money.

July 23

As the result of an accident (all-terrain vehicle and car), two people were charged by Officer Michel Dutil. Gary Sawyer, 20, of Waldoboro was charged with driving to endanger and leaving the scene of an accident. Nickolas Ames, 20, of Waldoboro was charged with operating after suspension, driving to endanger and operating under the influence.

July 24

Officer Dutil summoned Jacob Slattery, 20, of Hebron for possession of a usable amount of marijuana.

Officer Hoepner investigated an accident on Bremen Road at 11:52 a.m. Woodrow Verge, 94, of Waldoboro was driving a 2010 Toyota passenger car. The driver had bleeding in the head area. Melissa Mushrall, 46, of Waldoboro was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi sport-utility vehicle. That driver complained of pain in the chest/stomach area. Verge was stopped in a driveway facing north. Mushrall was going south on Bremen Road. Verge pulled out of the driveway and failed to yield to Mushrall, who was unable to avoid hitting the Toyota.

Officer Fuller is investigating a report from a resident who reported the theft of his wallet and approximately $800 cash. The wallet was later anonymously returned by mail without the cash.

Officer Fuller is investigating a theft of wire from appliances in a resident’s yard.

Sgt. Wilson is investigating a report from a resident that damage was done to her residence.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
