Teens wanted to set up new library area

ROCKLAND — All teens are invited to an informal pizza meeting at the Rockland Public Library to share ideas about library services to teens. Help plan a new teen area at the library. Meet at the circulation desk – the pizza is provided.

The meeting will be held Thursday, July 28 at 6 p.m. Young adults in grades six to 12 are invited to join the new Teen Advisory Group.

Waldoboro church to hold sale for scholarships

WALDOBORO — There will be a yard sale on Saturday, July 30 at Waldoboro United Methodist Church, 95 Friendship St., from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Benefit for church camp scholarships. For more information or to have donations picked up, call 832-5556.

Fish chowder supper

TENANTS HARBOR — On Saturday, July 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. there will be a fish chowder supper to benefit St. George Days Fireworks for 2012. The supper will be held at the St. George Town Hall and the cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children under 12 years of age. The supper includes chowder, crackers, biscuit, beverage and dessert.

St. Paul’s Chapel Society to hold sale

WALDOBORO — On Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon the St. Paul’s Chapel Society will be holding a yard and bake sale. The sale is to help fund the preservation of the historic St. Paul’s Chapel and the adjacent Dutch Neck Schoolhouse.

St. Paul’s Chapel was erected in 1885 by residents of Dutch Neck. The one-room Dutch Neck Schoolhouse was built in 1883 and served the children of Dutch Neck until the mid-1940s. Both buildings will be open during the sale for those who would like to view these historic buildings. Items available for sale will include baked goods, baked beans, men and women clothing, books, household and decorative items and a Christmas shop. Directions: From Route 1 in Waldoboro, take Route 32 south, after going through West Waldoboro take the first road to the left (Dutch Neck Road) and go about two miles- bearing left at the fork. Medomak benefit dinner

UNION — The Badger Cafe & Pub of Union is hosting a benefit dinner for the Global Humanitarian Club of Medomak Valley High School. The event is on Monday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. with a social hour starting at 5 p.m. For $30 diners can experience a five-course meal featuring Greek, French, Italian, Thai, and Cajun cuisines. Appleton Historical Society to discuss local artist

APPLETON — The Appleton Historical Society will meet on Monday, Aug. 1 at the Miller Farm, located at 2620 Sennebec Road. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

Dr. Royce Miller will speak about Uriah Dyer, a well-known artist from Appleton. Refreshments will be provided after the talk by Royce Miller II and Ed Hess. Everyone is invited to attend.
