Victoria Browning Wyeth, granddaughter of artist Andrew Wyeth, will present her illustrated talk Andrew Wyeth: Friends and Neighbors Saturday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at the historic Old Town House, Old Town House Road/Route 235, near Union Common. The evening is fundraiser for Vose Library.

There will be a reception afterwards with wine, cheese and savories. Tickets are $15 per person and are available at the Vose Library, 392 Common Road in Union; Rock City Café, 316 Main St., Rockland; Yo Momma’s Home, 96 Main St., Belfast; and Maine Coast Book Shop/Cafe, 158 Main St./Business Route 1, Damariscotta.

Victoria Wyeth is the niece of local artist Jamie Wyeth and the only granddaughter of the late iconic artist Andrew Wyeth. She has been a docent of Wyeth art for many years and currently guides tours at the Brandywine River Museum, which exhibits the family’s works in Chadds Ford, Pa.

Wyeth relates personal memories and insights gained through years of discussions with her grandfather and uncle. Her commitment to her family’s art, legacy and spirit is exemplified by her willingness to share the Wyeth “story.” Her PowerPoint presentation will feature photos and stories of the Wyeth family and neighbors as well as the broader context of the Wyeth portfolio. Wyeth can be expected to share her intimate knowledge about her grandfather’s paintings and the artist’s intent.
