Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St. invites all fans of Mr. Magee, aka Chris Van Dusen of Camden, to gather in the Children’s Room Thursday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. to meet the author/illustrator. Van Dusen promises a fun and fast-paced event filled with funny stories, laughter and visuals involving the children.

An illustrator as well as a writer, Van Dusen will show examples of his art work then move on to his books, reading a story and showing the audience many of his sketches and artwork. All are welcome; however, the presentation will focus on children age 9 through 12.

Van Dusen’s illustrations appear in such magazines as Nickelodeon, Family Fun and Disney Adventures. His newest book, “King Hugo’s Huge Ego,” has just been released. His visit is part of the Maine Authors & Illustrators Series sponsored by the Rose and Samuel Rudman Library Trust, The Reading Corner and Friends of the Rockland Public Library.
