Colin Page, a Midcoast-based, internationally-shown landscape artist, will share insights about his work as well as samples at the Thomaston Public Library Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. The presentation will take place in the gymnasium of the Thomaston Academy Building at 60 Main St./Route 1 as part of the Artists Among Us series, hosted by Friends of the Thomaston Public Library.

Page received his bachelor of fine arts degree in 2000, studying paint at both the Rhode Island School of Design and the Cooper Union. He recently had a solo show at the Dowling Walsh Gallery in Rockland and has participated in numerous international group shows. Page has been living in Maine for several years, focusing on painting the landscape. He works outside, to capture the light and atmosphere of his subject matter.

“Through painting, I share unexpected moments of beauty that I find in the space around me. Painting is how I share the poetry of experience,” he said.

Admission is free, although donations are welcome. There will be a reception with refreshments after the presentation.
