Kaja Veilleux and John D. Bottero of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries will serve as auctioneers at Center for Maine Contemporary Art’s fundraiser auction Sunday, July 31 at Point Lookout, Route 1. The Art to Collect Now event features works by 100 of Maine’s best artists, works that may be seen through Saturday, July 30 at CMCA in Rockport.

The “Art to Collect Now” exhibition and auction includes work in oil and acrylics by Janice Anthony, Gideon Bok, Mary Bourke, Katherine Bradford, Avy Claire, Jane Dahmen, Scott Davis, Nicole Duennebier, Ingrid Ellison, Alan Fishman, Linden Frederick, Philip Frey, Harold Garde, Nancy Glassman, Ken Greenleaf, Eric Hopkins, Jon Imber, William Irvine, Barbara Kassel, Richard Keen, Monica Kelly, T. Bottero termed the event is a great opportunity for people to purchase works by many of Maine’s finest artists, and Veilleux called it an honor to be associated with the art auction, adding ” If I weren’t calling the auction, I would be here anyway to participate in the dinner and sale.”

Tickets, which include dinner and a bidding number, are $125 each or $1,000 for a table of eight. Preview of auction art is from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.; dinner will be served at 6 p.m.; and the auction will begin around 7 p.m. For more details, contact CMCA at 236-2875 or at info@cmcanow.org.
