Madeline Nigrini, age 6, is wearing one of the hats on display at the Camden Public Library. The display was set up by members of the Camden Garden Club as a reminder to all that their famous House and Garden Tour will take place on July 21. The Camden Garden Club members will be wearing hats that they decorated especially for the annual event.
With generous support of the tour, the Camden Garden Club provides:
Flower baskets in the summer for the lampposts, since 1925.
Fresh evergreen holiday wreaths for the lampposts.
Flowers for the public landing, traffic islands and planted flower boxes at the Archway.
One-third support of the annual tree program in Camden.
Maintenance of the planting beds at the Village Green.
Scholarships to local students.
Five winter horticulture programs free to the public.
Building a Children’s Amphitheater at Laite Beach in 2009.
