St. George Days is scheduled to take place July 15 through 17, with a lineup of events that includes a street dance, lobster dinner, and fireworks.

On Friday, July 15 from 8 to 9 p.m., an opening reception will be held for the ninth annual Artists of St. George art show at the Odd Fellows Hall. Artists of all skill levels are invited to participate, and should call 372-6501 if interested. The show will run from July 16 to July 31.

From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. rhythm and blues band Three Button Deluxe will accompany a street dance and antique car rally in the St. George School parking lot.

Events on Saturday, July 16 start with a pancake breakfast, sponsored by Trekkers, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the 10th-grade Trekkers program. At the same time, a yard sale will take place across from Tenants Harbor Library or at the elementary school if weather is inclement. Those wishing to donate items for the yard sale should contact Cathy Ansart at or 372-8838.

Other Saturday morning events include a half-mile fun run for children and the Marshall Point 5K Lighthouse Loop, both beginning at around 8:30 a.m. The Jackson Memorial Library Book Fair will begin at 9 a.m. and ice cream will be sold at the American Legion Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Main Street parade, with Maine Saint Andrews Pipes and Drums, will begin at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the annual St. George Fireman’s Association lobster dinner, offering lobsters, burgers, pies and more.

After the parade, attendees are invited to visit the Schoolhouse Museum or participate in a dunk tank challenge. Children’s activities will be sponsored by Harmony Bible Church.

Other events include a Home Run Derby at 3 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. sunset and fireworks cruise with Monhegan Boat Line. More information about the cruise can be found by calling 372-8848. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to help pay for fireworks.

Fireworks will begin at dusk and organizers said that donations are still welcome for this year’s and next year’s fireworks.

On Sunday, July 17, the Old Timers’ baseball game will begin at 1 p.m. at the St. George Ball Field on Route 131.
