Aug. 1 is the deadline to get a pet featured in the Humane Society’s 2012 Pet Calendar, and spaces are limited. There are several opportunities to get a pet’s photo in the calendar.

Showcase a pet on the front cover. Bid today to secure this coveted front cover shot on the HSKC’s first annual calendar fundraiser. (Bidding starts at $300.)

Or choose a glamor shot and have a pet’s full-page-sized photo displayed for a whole month ($200).

Also available and very affordable are the Tail Wagger Shots ($35), a photo featured on a month date space.

Each entrant receives a complimentary calendar and extras are available on order. Each additional calendar is only $10. Calendars go on sale Oct. 1. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go toward caring for the more than 1,200 homeless and needy animals that come through the shelter each year. Any business that is interested in advertising in the calendar can contact Joan at 975-5084.

Calendar photo submission forms can be obtained online at, or at the shelter, Loyal Biscuit Co., Pet Quarters, Hollydachs or The Animal House. For more information email or contact Kim at 975-4107.
