The Camden Public Library’s annual summer book sale will be the largest ever and has been extended to a three-day sale. The sale will be held under two 38-foot-by-28-foot tents and will begin Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m. and will conclude Sunday at 6 p.m.

“We will have many fabulous hardbound fiction books, featuring today’s leading authors including our Camden favorites, Tess Gerritsen, Richard Russo and David McCullough. We also have hundreds of retired library books for our book sale that we’ll be selling for only $1 each,” said volunteer book sale Chairman Don White, in a press release.

The sale will also feature the largest paperback selection “ever, in the history of the Camden library book sale,” said White, and a huge selection of young adult and children’s books.

“Before recycling was popular, we began recycling books in the early ’90s and this sale is no different,” White said. “It’s the culmination of hundreds of hours of volunteer labor dedicated to processing, pricing and categorizing these books.”

The book sale also offers hundreds of donated books. “We will refresh and restock the piles of books for the Saturday morning start, midday Saturday, and for the Sunday opening,” said White.

“Please mark down our extended hours: Friday, July 15, 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, July 17, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The sale on the library front lawn will be held rain or shine. Volunteers are needed for various fun assignments including setting up the sale, cashiers, refreshers and tearing down,” White said.
