An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

The Maine State Police responded to and reported the following calls from June 29 through July 2.

June 29

Trooper Scott Quintero and Deputy Matt Elwell of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to Salt Pond Lane for the report of a family fight over bills. There was no evidence of an assault and the parties separated for the evening.

June 30

Trooper Quintero responded to the report of a domestic fight on Pine Ridge Road in Cushing. Martin Link, 39, of Cushing was found to have assaulted a 26-year-old woman because he was upset when the woman would not share the marijuana they bought together, state police reported. Link was placed under arrest and transported to jail by Knox County deputies and charged with Class C domestic violence, criminal mischief and stealing drugs. Sarah Havener, 26, was arrested for possession of schedule drugs and possession of a usable amount of marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.

July 1

Trooper Patrick Hood responded to Forrest Lake Road in Friendship for a verbal altercation between two females. One of the parties had left prior to law enforcement arrival. She was in the process of moving out of an attached apartment and arrangements were made for the following day for a supervised escort to ensure no further problems arose. After the completion of the escort, she was warned on criminal trespass at that location.

July 2

Trooper Hood responded to Main Street in Friendship for a criminal trespass complaint. The complainant called after her ex-husband refused to leave her residence. He left after she made the call to law enforcement for assistance. He was located and warned on criminal trespass at her address in the future.

Trooper Hood stopped Darren Webb, 41, of Rockport on Buttermilk Lane in Thomaston for a vehicle defect. An investigation revealed Webb was under suspension. He was summoned for the violation and released.

Troopers Bethany Couturier and Quintero arrested John Morton, 44, of Union after he reportedly had an altercation with his girlfriend in Searsport.

Trooper Quintero stopped a vehicle on River Road in Cushing for speed. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Frank Johnson, 28, of Cushing. Johnson was found to have a suspended license and was summoned for criminal operating after suspension.
