Artist Tania Amazeen-Jones, lately of New Hampshire, has installed an exhibit of her work at the Thomaston Public Library. Her show, titled “The Beauty of Maine,” features four large oil paintings relating to the state of Maine with accompanying poems.

Amazeen-Jones works in pen and ink, graphite, pastel and paint and has completed more than 800 works of art. Many of her paintings are portraits or images of wildlife. Awards include best in show awards, best in portraiture, the Barbara B. Danser Founders Award and the Savoir-Faire Award.

In addition to her work as a painter, Amazeen-Jones is an accomplished poet and author of the book “Voices of Art.” The poems included in her show at the library all speak to the same themes as the paintings they accompany.

The show is part of the library’s popular Community Displays Program, which brings local artists and collections to the library.  For more information on the program or Amazeen-Jones’ show, call the library at 354-2453. The library is in the Thomaston Academy building, 60 Main St./Route 1.
