The Katahdin Valley Boys, one of Maine’s most popular and respected bluegrass bands, has been thrilling audiences around Maine and northern New England since their blending of talents in 1998. They will perform Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. in the second-floor theater of Lincoln Street Center for Arts and Education, 24 Lincoln St.

Theey take pride in performing top quality traditional and contemporary bluegrass and gospel music including numerous original tunes. Each member brings many years of experience and professional showmanship to the band’s hard driving traditional bluegrass sound; they all share lead singing and most harmonize too.

The Boys are: founding member Jeff Folger from Sidney on banjo; Kip Yattaw is from Port Clyde on fiddle; Ken Brooks of Athens on rhythm and lead guitar; and Steve Bixby of Round Pond on upright bass. For more information on the band, visit katahdinvalleyboys.com.
