Coastal Mountains Land Trust invites the community to the organization’s birthday party at Beech Nut, at the summit of Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport on Friday, July 15, the actual day of their incorporation 25 years ago. The hut will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with main festivities beginning at 12 noon.
The land trust will share a birthday cake and have a card for people to sign with their birthday wishes for places like Beech Hill, Bald and Ragged Mountains, and the Ducktrap River Preserve. There will even be a game of “pin the sod roof on the hut” game for youngsters. Special guests from the land trust’s past will be there to share stories about the early days at the land trust.
This year Coastal Mountains Land Trust celebrates its 25th anniversary of permanently conserving land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay region. The land trust has protected almost 9,000 acres since 1986. For more information about the land trust, please visit coastalmountains.org or call 236-7091.
