On Friday, July 8 the Sail, Power and Steam Museum will host a concert by Castlebay, a duo presenting music of Maine’s seafaring tradition. Cookies and coffee will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m.
Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee of Round Pond perform traditional and original songs and music inspired by the people, environment and history of coastal Maine. Their concerts feature poignant ballads sung in Lane’s ethereal soprano and Gosbee’s rich baritone, interspersed with joyous dance tunes played on Celtic harp, guitar, fiddle and tin whistle.
Cost is $10; call 701-7627 for reservations and information. The Sail, Power and Steam Museum is at Sharp’s Point South, 75 Mechanic St. For more information on the museum, call; send email to ssmuseum@midcoast.com; or visit sailpowerandsteammuseum.org.
