The Waldoboro Woman’s Club met June 14 at the VFW Hall in Waldoboro.

Hostesses were Jeanette Achorn and Carol Hall Perry. The table and refreshments were decorated with a Flag Day theme with a beautiful floral centerpiece of red, white and blue flowers.

The “thought for the day” given by Marilyn Andrews was “Only A Moment.”

June birthdays were celebrated by Carol Hall Perry and Judy Nichols.

Becky Maxwell, president, led the business meeting.

Volunteer sheets for the Old German Church were passed around. Club members volunteer at the Old German Church in Waldoboro during July and August from 1 to 4 p.m.

The club received a Certificate of Award from the Maine Federation of Women’s Clubs in recognition of reporting the club’s accomplishments. Also, a thank you note from the Medomak Valley Community Foundation and a thank you for the donation to the Good Shepherd Food Bank. Also, a note from Kathy White, president of the Winterport Women’s Club for a donation to Our Neighbor’s Cupboard, which was located in the Winterport church that was destroyed by fire.

Charlotte Gulezian reported on Class Day June 7 at Medomak Valley High School with scholarships given to six recipients by the club.

Members discussed plans for the annual Whale of a Sale on Saturday, June 25 at the VFW Hall. The event raises monies for scholarships to local high school students and for continuing education.
