Simonton Corner Community Association is issuing a last call for artists and artisans to display and sell their work at the Community Hall Saturday and Sunday, July 16th and 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Art and Artisans Fair is the most recent event taken on by the association to keep the hall useful and useable. The hall was formed in the 1920s as a place of community gathering, but has lately become a place to come for contra dancing in addition to regular potluck suppers and rummage sales. The association has been working to upgrade the old hall and make it more user friendly, while retaining its charm and sensibility.

The Art and Artisans Fair will be held several times each year to support the hall, located on Main Street just past the Simonton Corner intersection. The easy-to-find location with plenty of parking makes it an excellent space for this kind of event. There is currently room for more artists and artisans at $25 per space, 5-by-5 or 8-by-8 feet. To reserve a space, call 236-0730.
