“Eat, Paint, Play,” a solo show of work by Kimber Lee Clark, will open with a 5 to 8 p.m. reception Friday, July 8 at Saturday Cove Gallery on Route 1. Saturday Cove owners Clark and Scott Sebold invite the public to join them for an artful evening.

Clark’s solo exhibit features a collection of her playful acrylic paintings of Maine life. She calls this work spontaneous rather than deliberate, intuitive layers of texture and color slowly begin to speak with new conversations, meditative stories and light-hearted exploration.

“Eat” refers to yummy reflections on the popular cupcake craze; “paint” to Clark’s trademark lopsided lighthouses and other bits of Maine life; and “play” is just that, abstract abundance and simple delight in the artist journey.

“Eat, Paint, Play” will run through July 26. The gallery is located 10 miles north of Camden and is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 338-3654 or visit saturdaycove.com.
