A 26-year-old man serving a 35-year sentence for killing a Waldoboro woman three years ago has had another year added to his prison term.

Steven C. Pomeroy, 26, formerly of Hope, was sentenced June 22 in Knox County Superior Court to an additional year in prison for trafficking in prison contraband at the Maine State Prison in Warren on Oct. 25, 2010. Court papers state that Pomeroy was in possession of a shank, a homemade knife.

Pomeroy was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the July 1, 2008, murder in Hope of 22-year-old Jessica Nichols of Waldoboro. The victim was stabbed and bludgeoned.

In another case from last week in Knox County Superior Court, Stephen Lewis Lee, 36, of Warren was sentenced to another year in prison for trafficking in prison contraband. Lee was indicted last year for possessing a padlock attached to a belt within the prison.

The following other cases were closed in Knox County Superior Court from June 17 through June 24.

Dwayne Lee Ames, 49, South Thomaston, domestic violence assault, nine months in jail; assault, nine months in jail.

Shawn A. Benner, 28, Warren, escape on Oct. 9, 2010, in Rockland, dismissed.

Scott P. Davenport, 37, Warren, assault on an officer, nine months in jail; assault on an officer, nine months in jail.
