The Penobscot Bay YMCA youth field hockey program begins Wednesday, June 29 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Camden Hills Regional High School.

Girls in kindergarten through fourth grade who live in Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville or Rockport can participate. The program runs each Wednesday night from 5 to 6 p.m. through July 27.

The program is designed to teach the basics of stick handling, hand-eye coordination and passing-receiving skills.

Players should bring a mouth guard and shin guards.

The cost is $20 for YMCA members and $40 for non-members. The instructors are high school varsity coach Jan Holmes-Jackson and Windjammer jayvee coach Kim Nason.
