Children’s book author at Planet Toys

Karel Hayes will introduce her newest book, “The Summer Visitors,” Saturday, July 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Planet Toys, 318 Main St.

Hayes has a way without words. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the country. Told almost exclusively through her beautifully detailed illustrations, Karel’s newest book follows a group of bumbling bears as they enjoy the comforts of cottage life while trying to avoid detection by their human “hosts.”
