Sharron Lorrain Carlson passed away Thursday morning, June 16, 2011, at Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Bangor on March 31, 1961, a daughter of Harold E. Camber of Thomaston and Ramona H. Dorgan of Waldoboro. She was one of five children.

Sharron grew up in the Midcoast with her family, and was a graduate of Medomak Valley High School, a member of the class of 1980. Sharron worked as a CNA at Quarry Hill in Camden. She loved being a CNA more than anything; helping others with their needs was what she lived for.

Sharron was well known and admired for the loving, caring person she truly was. Some of her special memories were going to sing karaoke at Nancy’s with Kathy and Krystal, watching “American Idol” with her daughter, going camping, and just spending time with her friends and family. A very special thanks to her dear friends Sherri Hopkins and Nancy Holloway for being with her throughout her years of fighting until they passed away themselves from the same disease.

She was predeceased by her brother, Darryl E. Camber.

In addition to her parents, Sharron is survived by her daughter, Krystal N. (Carlson) Johnson and her husband, Bub, of Waldoboro; her grandson, Colyn Johnson; her companion, Daniel Corey of Waldoboro; her three stepchildren, Malinda Foley of Cushing, Jacob Carlson of Waldoboro and Benjamin Carlson of St. George; a sister, Shirlee Hall of Belfast; two brothers, Dean Camber of Union and Dennis Camber of Thomaston; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service Sunday, June 26 at 1 p.m. at East Union Cemetery on Miller Road in Union.

Arrangements are with Smeltzer Family Cremation and Funeral Service in Waldoboro.
