On Sunday, June 26 from 1 to 3 p.m., Merryspring will be offering the free family workshop, “Animal Signs.” Get ready to be an animal detective. Participants will hone their skills of observation and learn how to tell what kind of animal has been around. Participants will also learn how to best observe animals in their natural habitat. There will be activities relating to animal tracks, eating habits, scat, and habitats. There also will be a short hike around the property to explore for animal prints.

“Animal Signs,” is part of Merryspring’s Nature Explorers series led by Environmental Educator Sarah Lambson and is offered on the fourth Sunday of the month. This series and a second series, Outdoor Adventures, held on the second Sunday of each month, will be offered from June through September, and each will focus on a variety of family-friendly outdoor activities.

Family programs are offered at no charge. The event is open to all ages but activities are designed for children ages 5-12 and all children must be accompanied by an adult. These programs are held outdoors, so please dress weather appropriate. In case of rain please call ahead for potential cancellation.
